I went to Paris for a few days

-♥-

I've just got back from a few days in Paris and loved every single second of it. I traveled their with my friend. We did the typical tourist attractions such as walking up the Eiffel Tower (believe me we needed water and a rest when we reached just the second floor, it was so tiring). Unfortuntley there were massive queues to reach the top of the Eiffel Tower so we didn't bother.

The view from the second floor was amazing!

As my friend and myself had been to Rome back in June this year we found that getting on one of the open top sightseeing tour bus's a useful, cheap and easy way of getting around both in Rome and in Paris. This allowed us to sit on the bus and wait until we wanted to get off and visit the sights. Due to this we were able to see the Arc De Triomphe, the Louvre Mususum, Cathedrale Notre Dame and many other exciting building. However, please note the Louvre Museum closes on a Tuesday. We did not know this and ended up going when it was closed which was really annoying as when your under 25 I think it is free to get into the museum.

One of the exciting new tourist attractions which seems to be getting more noticed is the simple factor of fixing a lock on a gate or fence on a bridge and throwing the key into the river/canal. This is known as Love Padlocks also known as Love Locks and Wish Locks to symbolize couples love.  I had stumbled across this and read up about it before we visited Paris and apparently Paris is not the only city to do this, even Rome, Prague, Germany and many more have started this.

Despite not traveling with my boyfriend to Paris I did not feel I wanted to put a padlock on the bridge without him, (maybe if we visit as a couple we will) but instead my friend and myself decided to take a padlock with us to Paris and just put both our names on the padlock not to mean anything just to show we had been on the bridge.

In Paris there was not just one bridge full of locks but other bridges around the city had been involved with this crazy Padlock idea. The whole bridge were full of lovers and admires of the beautiful bridge. For the ones who had just randomly stumbled across the bridge but wanted to get involved within it, people were selling the padlocks for the people to buy.

We decided to fasten a mint ribbon to our padlock to make it stand out.

 My name on the padlock.

Before we went we decided to be big kids and make a day stop at DISNEYLAND! It just had to be done. We paid for the shuttlebus service which included the Disneyland tickets for both of the parks I think they were £79 from http://www.dosomethingdifferent.com  Our travel agent arranged it for us and we found the transport service great. We did think about getting the metro to Disneyland but decided for us that the transport would be an easier option.

Unfortuntley the day we did allocate of our holiday to go to Disneyland it decided to rain which was really annoying but there was nothing we could do we just had to get on with it. However it did seem to clear up later in the afternoon which was good. The most annoying thing from the whole day was the fact how long we had to queue for FOOD, we queued longer to get food than to see Mickey which was an hour.

I could write so much more but this blog post is already really long, so I won't bore you anymore!
