On Saturday 17th August 2013 it was one of my friends birthday nights out. She had decided to do Grease fancy dress night out in Preston. I had decided to dress up as Sandy Olsen so I thought I would share some of my ideas what I did to portray her character. I made the decision to dress up as Bad Sandy (the way she dressed up at the end of the Movie in the song You're the one that I want.
Here is a few photographs of what I wore. I know I do not look like Sandy Olsen it was just for a bit of fun and I thought I would show you what I did. (My hair is a lot longer than Sandy's so it was impossible to do much with it other than curl it). I did not want to wear a short wig!
My Hair
As I mentioned above I decided to curl my hair. I wanted to create a messy tight wavy hair style. To achieve this I used my curling iron from Herstyler the Baby Curls one. I am not sure where you can purchase this curler from as mine was given to me as a gift a couple of years ago. But I did look on the Herstyler website and I think you can purchase it on there.
I really like this curling iron as you can create tight curls or loose ones depending on where you place your hair on the iron. Once I had curled all my hair I clipped up the both sides of my hair on to the back of my head using bobby pins. I used a heat protection spray before curling my hair and washed my hair the day before so it wasn't squeaky clean and not too soft.
My hair just curled. (Excuse the dodgy eye)
My curling iron.
My make up.

Brush Collection: Ecotools eyeshaw brush, Ecotools Two Blush and Powder Brushes, (Available from Boots). Bourjois Paris bronzing brush, Cosmopolitan eye shawdow brush blender, Go* blush brush (Unsure where you can purchase it).
[Please note not featured in the photograph is the Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayon in the colour Red Sunrise, this was my friends and I went over the top of my BodyShop lipstick to make a glossier finish].
Hair Products include: Aussie Dual Personality Heat Protection leave in spray. V05 Extra Hold Weather Resistant Hairspray which is my favourite. I am not sure if the Weather Resistant factor is true with this hairspray but it is a product that works well for my hair and keeps my hair fixed in place.
My Clothes
For my clothes I decided on a plain black t-shirt which is from Topshop, it is still available in Topshop now as I only bought it last week for £15, they have them in various different colours too.
For leggings I decided against wearing the wet leather look leggings and decided on some ones I had already had. They are from New Look a few months ago and they are a silky material.
The red shoes are from New Look but I bought them on Asos in June. I don't think they have them now but any red shoes would do, I chose these wedges as I find them easier to walk in and comfy for a night out. The shoes Sandy wears are actual heels but I coudn't find any exactly a like.
The belt is also another New Look purchase but unfortuntley I did buy it about 5 years ago, but I am sure they would have something similar now or Primark are good with belt designs too.
Sandy wears some gold earrings and I bought mine from Primark, however I did loose one whilst I was out and only took these photographs after my night out so only one is in this photograph.
I also wore red nail varnish which is also a very old purchase but any red nail varnish would do, the one I am wearing is from Revlon in the colour (Candied Cheery 46).
I will also add that the cigarette in the earlier photographs is a fake one purchased from a fancy dress shop! I do not smoke and I am not advertising that people should smoke, I bought the fake one just for photographs to pose how Sandy does at the end of the film!
