In March this year my family and myself headed to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Watford London to see the Harry Potter tour. I would say we spent quite a few hours looking around the studio and it just showed how much thought and effort they had put into organising every tiny detail for it's visitors.
I would say if you are a Harry Potter lover it is definitely worth making a trip to it. The studio tour allows you to see props, costumes, sets and lots of information about filming techniques. It is so strange standing on the sets where all the actors have filmed on. I have grown up with the Harry Potter franchise and have always been a fan and visiting the studio tour was such a big deal for me and I was so giddy as soon as we drove onto the tours car park.
The most important thing to do
before visiting is to pre book your tickets. You have to allocate which day you want to visit and what time slot, which depends if the time you want and day is available and hasn't all sold out.
If you are thinking about going
stop thinking and book the tickets on Warner Brothers Website. It is such a fun day out for all ages and Harry Potter Lovers. At the end of the day I had taken so many photographs it was untrue, there was just so much to take photographs of and I thought I would share some of my favourite ones with you.
If you are planning on visiting the studio and do not want to see any photographs or spoilers of the tour I advise you to click off this blog post as I do not want to ruin it for you!

Whilst in the studio you have to queue to go into a room where a film is shown whilst waiting this is shown on your right hand side and it is Harry Potters Cupboard (bedroom) under the stairs at the Muggles house.
A closer shot inside of The Cupboard under the stairs.
After you have gone into a room to watch a short film you are then escorted into the Great Hall. Where you see the tables are set for dinner's. Around the edges they display costumes on models for you to look at.
The most disappointing aspect I would mention is that we only had a short time looking around the Great Hall compared to the other rooms around the tour. I only managed to get a few photographs from the Great Hall and unfortunley didn't get chance to look at everything in detail. The problem is that once being escorted out of the Great Hall the doors close behind you and you can not return.
I think they try to stagger the tour time slots by the short film and because the Great Hall is not large room compared to the other rooms on the tour there is not enough space for people to stay in for a long time. So be prepared to be rushed out of the Great Hall.
After leaving the Great Hall you are then taken to a large room which features costumes from the film which the actors wore. It also shows the hair and make up which they used in the films. This room also shows various sets dressed ready for filming. Some of the sets are a lot smaller than imagined.

There is also section in this room which features a green room where the visitors can fly a broom or go in the flying Ford Anglia. I chose to fly the broom. You are not meant to take photographs in the green room but I was able to take some sneaky ones. You can purchase your flying photograph which I did.

There is so much to look at in the main large room I haven't included every photograph of everything as if you are planning to attend the studio there will be still some surprises for you! After looking around this section of the tour the next one is outside at the back lot of the studio.
In the back lot it allows visitors to purchase Butterbeer (I didn't buy one here as when I went to Florida back in 2010 I tried one at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando and I didn't particularly like it). I would say if you haven't tried one definitely do as everyone has different tastes. My friends went to the studio tour few months after I went and they tried them and they liked it!
The back lot also has features the knight Bus, Hagrid's motorbike and the Ford Anglia and allows the visitors to take photographs with them. What also is in the back lot is 4 Privet Drive and Hogwards Bridge. Seeing these up close and personal was amazing, it was so strange seeing Privet Drive not actually on a street like it is shown in the films.

After being outside for quite awhile we went back inside the studio to explore a different room which featured the creature studio and the craft elements which appeared in the films.
In the Creatures studio there is so much to look at, I have only uploaded a few selected photographs as I did not want to spoil every aspect of the studio for you.
The next section of the tour is one of my favourites it is Diagon Alley. Compared to what is shown on film Diagon Alley is a lot smaller than I had actually imagined.
After Diagon Alley you are able to view the Art Department, which showed some of the drawings and models. This room was very detailed and showed how much thought and effort had actually been put into making the film such a huge success.
The best bit of the whole entire studio must be the last and final section of the tour which is the model scale of Hogwarts. The lightening of the room changed to show the model at day and night. It was fascinating to see how Hogwarts had been created.
To end an amazing day at the studio we went into the fascinating gift shop! It sold everything related to Harry Potter and did not miss anything out. I just thought I would include some photographs of myself messing about in the gift shop.

Well I hope you have liked this Blog post. If you have been to the studio please let me know your thoughts about it in the comments! I loved every single second of it. I just want them now to build The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the UK like the one at Universal Orlando!
