This weekend I made a trip down south to Chelmsford to visit my
boyfriend who lives in Essex, I went down by train on Friday evening and
we decided to go into London early on the Saturday. As I had wrote in
my blog post 'A List Of Things I Want to Do In My Life.' Which you can visit
here.
I wanted to visit London's Zoo as I hadn't never been
before we decided to look into going and found that if we used our rail
tickets we were able to get into the Zoo using a
Days Out Guide
voucher 2 for 1
which only then cost us all together £21.00 which was a bargain. I would
really recommend checking this website out as they have discounts for
London and the South East. I will definitely be having a look for other
cheap things to do in London when I next visit in a few weeks time.
The
way the Days Out Guide works is you have to qualify by traveling by
train as you have to show your train tickets once at the attractions as
well you have to sign up to the website. Then you have to select which 2
for 1 discount voucher you want and add it to the basket.
Please note you have to
definitely print
the voucher off which gets sent by email to you. Then bring the train
tickets and voucher to the chosen attractions. It is that easy and
cheap! There are other terms and conditions on their website so if you
want to have a look please check it out
here.

Once we got to ZSL London Zoo before queuing up to purchase the tickets there was a man taking our photographs on a blank canvas I didn't really know what he was going to do with the photographs until we got to the end of the day and we were leaving the Zoo. At the exist there is a guy selling the photographs and the nice book. I bought these ones which came as photographs and one photograph to be able to fit in a keyring (keychain) for £10. I thought the price was pretty expensive but it was one of those things I liked the photographs and thought they would be nice memories of the day. The other package he offered to me was £20 I can't remember what you got for that but for myself it was not necessary to spend that much.
I also would note it would be pretty advisable to take own sandwiches or snacks to the Zoo as like most places the food areas were very expensive. For once slice of pizza and chips was £9! SHOCKING! I ended up settling for a bag of crisps and a Christmas Cupcake for lunch.
I
thought I would share some of the photographs I took, some are taken on
my Olympus HD D-720 Camera and some are on my Iphone 5 so mixed quality of
photographs.
Hope you enjoy them, I had a good day and glad I have been
able to tick it off my to do list now!

Whilst at the Zoo it made me realise how unsociable the animals were, I suppose if I was them and was having my photograph taken like 10000 or more a day then I would get pretty sick of it and turn my back too.
In the Kangaroo Sanctuary outback area I only saw one Kangaroo which I was disappointed at.
I found NEMO!
I really liked this sign and it made me laugh!
The Penguin Beach was one of the areas I loved the most, it was such a lovely place for the Penguin's to be. I really liked the fact there was glass walls so you could see them swimming under neigh.
I made a friend with a penguin! I love this photograph.
In the Reindeer pen there was only two Reindeer's I guess the others were out helping Father Christmas prepare for Christmas time ;)
At the Zoo there was loads of information and leaflets about encouraging
young people or anyone in fact to become a Zoo Keeper for the day. These poor children probably didn't realise being a Zoo Keeper meant brushing up poop all day.
After vising the Zoo I think I now have a thing for Owls, I just think they look like lovely creatures.
The whole surroundings of the Zoo was nice and we had lovely weather too when we went which was good. It was such a beautiful place.
Myself posing on the canal bridge.
Bats in the cave.
Have you ever been to ZSL London Zoo before? If you have what are your thoughts on it? If you haven't been would you like to?
