What was in my make up bag in October

-♥-

It is that time of the month again for me to tell you what products were in my make up bag in October. I have been experimenting with new products and have branched out but the question is: Will I still be using the products in November?

This month I have been using my travel soap and glory wash/make up bag. The reason for changing to this bag this month was because my Victoria's Secret one was getting too small for all the new products which I have been trying this month. I really like this make up bag because it has lots of room, if I was going on holiday (vacation) though I think this bag is too large to be an actual travel bag as I can imagine it taking up lots of room in a suitcase.

I really like the fact that the soap and glory make up bag has a secret pocket on the lid of the bag. I usually use this to put all my lip products in. This makes it easier when opening the bag to find products.

The inside of my make up bag:

Foundation:

This month I have been trying out a new foundation which is the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lift Firm Make up. I wanted a new everyday foundation and I thought this was going to be perfect. However, it has a very thick consistency for me it is very full coverage which really I only need a light to medium coverage at the moment. I think because of how thick it is for myself I stopped using it as an everyday foundation and just used it for special occasions or the days I wanted my foundation to last a long time or need extra coverage.  I wouldn't recommend rushing out to buy this foundation as I am sure there is some better ones out on the market and this wouldn't be my go to foundation product. I probably wouldn't repurchase this again it also has a really strange smell. Have any of you tried it and thought differently and liked it? Let me know in the comments.

Elizabeth Arden Foundation:

Elizabeth Arden Foundation in the colour: Vanilla Shell. (02) This is the lightest colour in the collection.

So after stopping using the Elizabeth Arden I jumped back into my old favourite the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I love this one. It was in my make up bag from September and it happened to stay around for another month. I have repurchased this product countless times. I love the consistency, it is smooth to apply with a foundation brush or just using finger tips. If you haven't tried this one before I would recommend buying it NOW.  I think it will always be a favourite.

Rimmel Match Perfection in the colour: Ivory

Mascara:

A new Mascara this month I have been trying is the Maybelline Rocket Volum Express in black. I have used this pretty much every single day. This is not the waterproof one. I love how it looks on my lashes and separates them making them look like they have more volume. I will probably repurchase this again. The price tag is: £7.99 which I always feel mascaras are expensive but this one is worth every penny for thick long lashes I would recommend buying it.

Lips:

This month I have been using some old favourite lip products I have had previously in my collection.  I have only bought one new lip product this month which is a Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in the colour: Asia (077)

The lip colours I have been trying out this month:

From left to right:

  • Rimmel Moisture Renew in the colour Vintage Pink (180).
I really like this colour and how it feels once applied onto the lips. The only problem with this is that the colour isn't very lasting and needs to be applied quite a few times. I think this will always be one of my favourites as it is very wearable for day times.
  • Revlon colorburst lip butter in the colour Cotton Candy (045).
This is a nice baby pink colour and only has a slight tint of colour on the lips. It creates a glossy shiny effect. However I do find these colourbursts especially this colour it is drying on my lips. This product probably wouldn't stay in my make up bag for next month as winter is coming which causes lips to dry out even more.
  •  Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in the colour: Asia (077).
When seeing the lid colour I did think it was going to be a lighter shade than it actually is. The lid colour is slightly deceiving. Having said that I still really like the colour. I wore it when I went to my friends engagement party and wore more nude eyeshadow colour and it really did seem like a statement lip colour. This wouldn't be suitable for me to wear as an every day shade colour but would look nice for evenings out.
  • Maybelline Baby Lips in the colour Cherry Me.
I have done a full blog post review of this product here:
I still really like this product as it leaves my lips smooth and gives them a tint of colour. There is other colours in this range which I am eager to try out and would recommend this range.
  • Revlon colorburst lip butter in the colour Raspberry Pie (010).
I bought this colour awhile ago and haven't really used it a lot. The reason for this is because it isn't a quick colour you can just put on. It is very dark in colour and needs to be applied properly. I find this colour is easy to smudge when applied onto my lips and I have to try and blend it well to not get any onto my face. I try to use a lip brush when applying this as just applying it from the applicator stick is a little messy. When I have tried to use it from the applicator it looks as if I have just stuck my face and lips in well....a Raspberry Pie. If you are good at applying lip colours then I would recommend this product and probably would keep trying using this as it is a very wintery colour.
  •  Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the colour Celestial (101).
I love these and this colour is a pleasure to wear. It is long lasting and recommend buying this colour or any others in the range because believe me they won't disappoint.

Primer:

As I have been going out for some special occasions my friends 21st birthday and my friends engagement party I decided to buy a primer to help my foundation and make up last. I couldn't really see much difference when I wasn't using this product. So maybe with a primer it is worth to go for more expensive brand instead of cheap as I am sure this one is only around the £4 mark. I probably will keep on using this product until it is empty but probably won't repurchase this one again.

Blush:

I have only tried one new blush product this month which is the Sally Hansen Natural  Beauty cream blush. I haven't made my mind up completely if I like it or not which probably means it will be lingering in my make up bag for yet another month until I have made up my mind. I don't think I love the product and I don't hate it. The colour is nice but it is the first cream blush I have owned and I do think I prefer powder ones but I will keep you posted about this product.

The other two are sleek palettes which always seem to be in my make up bags as the colours do look really bright but when blended well they look really nice on the skin and I really like sleek blushes because of the pigmentation.

Bronzer, Highlighter and Face Powder:

The only new product this month I have been trying is the Boots Seventeen bronzer. I have been looking for a bronzer without much/any shimmer. This one still has a slight shimmer to it. I think once this has used up I probably wouldn't repurchase this product again. I am still on a hunt for a shimmer free bronzer. If you know of any let me know in comments below.

I have kept on using the Benefits Flawless Powder this month and I really like this one as you can see with the photograph I have almost touched pan. I would recommend buying this as it does leave my face looking flawless. I am eager to try the Benefits Flawless Foundation, if you have used it what is your thoughts on it?

Soap and Glory Glow All Out Luminizing Radiance Face Powder this a product which I used last month and you will probably get fed up of seeing this as well as the Rimmel Stay Matte Transparent (001) face powder but these are products which I don't think I will ever get bored or can find anything better.

Eyes:

I haven't tried any new eyeliner this month I have just stuck to my Bourjois Khol and Contour 16 hour eyeliner.  I don't usually use eyeliner on a regular basis but when I go out or special occasions this would be the one I would use.

So me saying last month I don't usually have any one eyeshadow palettes I only usually use my Urban Decay Naked Palette I actually branched out this month and bought a Rimmel eyeshadow and MUA quad palette. I really like both of these and have got lots of compliments on both ones. They both are really lasting and when blended well look really nice and shimmery.

From Left to right:

Rimmel Smoky Quartz (030) Mono Eye Shadow, Mua Trio Eyeshadow in Chocolate Box (they don't have individual colour names).

Have you tried any new products this month? Let me know in the comments I would love to know some suggestions for my next months make up bag.
